Join us on the Second Saturday of each month for trail work days or adopt an SLP.

Volunteer

On the second Saturday morning of each month (weather dependent), we gather to walk the talk of supporting our SLP‘s.

Our projects, details of which which we announce via email during the week prior, run the gamut from weeding and vegetation removal to augmenting stair tread base rock, fixing railings, improving drainage, or adding DG to a path. No experience necessary — all are welcomed. We work on SLPs all over town, and sometimes we even help out our neighbors in Almonte, Homestead and Tam Valley to improve their public pathways.

We use email to correspond with our supporters, volunteers and adopters. There are multiple ways to join our efforts: You can adopt an SLP, volunteer for one of our monthly second-Saturday SLP cleanups, or you can simply stay up-to-date on what we are doing by adding your name to our carefully protected email list.

The Friends of Mill Valley’s Steps, Lanes and Paths’ “Adopt-an-SLP” program is designed to engage the community in helping maintain and care for the many unique staircases, neighborhood lanes and natural pathways that make up the City’s much-loved SLPs.

This program is open to all – individuals, neighborhood groups, businesses, hiking and running clubs, Scouts, schools, church groups – you name it. If you have an interest if helping the cause, you are welcomed!
